This week for our Cafe Partner Series we sat down with the family run cafe West Brew Coffee. This hidden gem is located in The Tweed of the Northern Rivers in New South Wales. Join us as we learn a little more about Kate and her family.
Firstly, what’s your go-to coffee?
Tell us a little bit about yourself and how the cafe came to be?
My name is Kate, I’m 21, my family and I opened the cafe almost 3 years ago to try something different, learn some new tricks and give back to the community of Tweed.
Why did you choose Blackboard Coffee?
We chose Blackboard because not only is it the best but the team behind the scenes are amazing! Such lovely guys and always willing to help when we need a hand on short notice!
What are your passions outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, you’ll usually catch me playing guitar or writing, hanging at the beach with mates and sinking a few beers hahaha.
If someone were to visit The Tweed what are the hidden gems around your area?
As a local, I’ve got plenty of secret spots, one being Fingal Lighthouse, perfect for sunset! and Potager’s Kitchen Garden up in Carool is the best place for a quality feed and a nice view of the valley.
Lastly, If you could invite one person for a coffee who would it be and why?
If I could have a coffee with anyone it would be Jeff Buckley so he could teach me how to play the guitar as sick as he does!
