CAFE PARTNERS: Tucker Casuarina

CAFE PARTNERS: Tucker Casuarina

We’re dedicated to delivering good coffee to good people both locally and globally.
This week we cruised on down to speak with Jordy of Tucker Casuarina. This killer cafe and bakery is located in The Commons Building in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. If you're ever passing through or love a road trip, Tucker is one to add to your list.

Firstly, what’s your go-to coffee?

Long blacks, usually 3.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how Tucker came to be?

I managed Canteen Coffee & Kitchen for 4 years. Nick would come in and have breaky and we would talk shit. Sometimes, he would try to sell me coffee. One day he came to me with the idea of a new shop down south.  And then a couple of weeks later he came in saying, he signed a lease. The idea was about putting together a team for the FOH, Kitchen, Bar and that we could build something to be more than just a cafe. I was apprehensive at first, but in the long run, had to jump at the opportunity.

Long story short.
Nick: Hey, you want to partner with me in a cafe.
Jordan: Sure, why not. Could be fun.

When did you open?

What are your passions outside of coffee?

Good food and surfboards......

If someone were to visit Casuarina what are the hidden gems around your area?

Beaches and more beaches. Sneaky ones to Pointbreaks.

There are also a few great shops and eats at The Commons like Tucker, Nikkou Store and Jordy's if you're hanging around for Pizza!

Lastly, If you could invite one person for a coffee who would it be and why?

My beautiful wifey Cyndi. She's the best. For laughs, for advice and for the company. It never gets old.

Then maybe, Bill Murray.  For more laughs of course.
