Blackboard Coffee Roasters Shipping & Dispatch Policy

Roasting Schedule & Freshness:

  • Roasting Days & Equipment: We roast on Mondays and Tuesdays every week to provide you with the freshest coffee possible. We control our stock closely to ensure freshly roasted coffee is always ready for your order. We proudly roast on Loring machines, utilizing a 35kg Loring for our core range and a dedicated 7kg Loring specifically for our single origins. This allows us exceptional precision and control when roasting in small batches.
  • Peak Flavour & Degassing: While the ideal brewing window depends on the specific coffee and its natural degassing process, peak flavour is typically reached around 2 weeks after the roast date. However, we encourage you to brew it straight away and test how the profile evolves! Thanks to our Loring technology and light roasting style, our single origins stay fresher and retain their amazing taste for much longer. We have found some coffees taste absolutely incredible even a month after roasting.

Dispatch & Processing:

  • Same-Day Dispatch: Orders placed before 11:00 am (Monday to Friday) for in-stock items usually qualify for same-day dispatch.
  • Operating Days: We do not ship on weekends or public holidays.
  • Processing Delays: Please allow 24 to 48 hours for processing during peak periods, for roast-to-order items, or in the event of limited stock. If there are significant delays, our customer service team will aim to contact you.

Domestic Shipping Rates & Subscriptions:

  • Free Standard Shipping: Available for all domestic orders of $100 or more that include at least one Blackboard Coffee product (blends, single origin, instant, capsules, drip bags, etc.).
  • $5.95 Flat Rate: Applies to all domestic orders under $100, as well as any orders of $100 or more that do not contain coffee products.
  • Express Post: Available as an alternative upgrade at checkout for domestic orders that do not qualify for Free Standard Shipping.
  • Subscriptions: The free shipping threshold applies to each individual shipment in a subscription. Furthermore, Free Shipping is automatically available for all subscriptions of 1kg or more for the duration of the subscription.

International Shipping Rates:

  • Custom Rates: Free shipping is not available for international orders. A customized shipping rate will be calculated and displayed at checkout based on your specific location.
  • International Carriers: International orders are delivered via Australia Post or DHL.

Delivery Times, Carriers & Tracking

  • Order Tracking: All orders are dispatched with a tracking number, which is emailed to you once your order leaves our warehouse.
  • Estimated Timeframes: From our roastery dispatch, most standard deliveries to major metro areas (like QLD) arrive within 2 to 4 business days. Deliveries to TAS, SA, WA, NT, and regional/rural areas may take longer (up to 7 days).
  • Equipment Exceptions: Brew gear items and La Marzocco machines may require extra time in transit depending on your location and the time of ordering. Contact us for specific estimates.
  • Carriers: Most domestic parcels are shipped via Australia Post. However, Blackboard Coffee Roasters reserves the right to choose any delivery service deemed most suitable for your area.

Receiving Your Order & Carrier Policies

  • Delivery Addresses: We cannot change the delivery address once a parcel has left our warehouse. We recommend nominating an address where someone is present to accept the delivery between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • Australia Post Policies: For items shipped with Australia Post, we are unable to call the driver or redirect parcels due to AusPost security policies. If you miss a delivery, a slip will be left. For assistance with AusPost deliveries, please contact Australia Post directly on 13 76 78.
  • Liability & Control: We do our best to dispatch your order as quickly as possible. However, once purchases have been dispatched and are with our courier, delivery timeframes are outside our control, and we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

Sale Periods & Promotions

  • Adjusted Terms: During high-volume sale periods (e.g., Black Friday), different shipping rules may apply. We may adjust dispatch cut-off times, processing windows, carrier services, free shipping eligibility thresholds, and delivery estimates.
  • Term Conflicts: Any temporary changes will be clearly shown on the promotion page, in your cart, and at checkout. Where there is a conflict, the promotional sale terms apply for the duration of the sale.
