CAFE PARTNERS: Why Knot Osaka

CAFE PARTNERS: Why Knot Osaka

We’re dedicated to delivering good coffee to good people both locally and globally. This week we spoke to legend Nobu from Why Knot Osaka. Their cafe and brand ethos is 'Something for Someone' and that really resonates with what we do down to the core. Working internationally with Why Knot has been a true pleasure so enjoy learning about how it all started, where the passion comes from and what to do when you're in Osaka.

Firstly, what’s your go-to coffee?

I like a Mocha and Matcha espresso latte.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how the cafe came to be?

While I was working at a sports shop, my dream was to open a shop. Then while I was visiting the Gold Coast and experiencing the Australian culture, I fell in love with the cafes. That’s why I opened my shop with a cafe stand in March of 2019.

Why did you choose Blackboard Coffee?

When we stayed on the GC, we drank Blackboard Coffee. It blew us away. We thought that we would like to say “This is the best coffee!!” in Japan.

What is the best part about owning & operating a cafe?

We have two reasons. First, we can meet people and experience culture from all over the world. Second, we can see everyone’s smile:)

What are your passions outside of coffee?

I like sports, surfing and football and to get a drink with my friends.

If someone were to visit Osaka what should they see?

Osaka has many traditional foods. Please go on a food tour and we recommend Nara and Kyoto (next to Osaka), they are good for sightseeing too.

Lastly, If you could invite one person for a coffee who would it be and why?

Would love to meet Poppy and Goldie! They are so cute, we love them. we would like to invite Nick’s family back.
