1. How did Mockingbird start?

Mockingbird started 8 years ago after we moved from varsity lakes to Kingscliff in 2012.

2. Why did you choose Blackboard Coffee?
Blackboard at varsity was our original kitchen, so we knew them well and I trusted Nick to roast us great coffee in our new location. I also wanted to support a local roaster.

3. What is the best part about owning/operating Mockingbird?

I love being part of our community, the friendships with customers and I love my staff! They are like my family.

4. To combat these current times how have you adapted your business?

At the moment during COVID, we are trying to get our locals involved with selling what they grow, having pay it forward coffees for anyone in need and are working with the tweed chamber of commerce to see any other areas of need. I think we are privileged to use our place in the community to help those who might need support. We all know coffee is essential!!
