Roaster's Pick

Posted by Sarah Agosta on

Each week Luke our Head Roaster picks a coffee to showcase for espresso that has caught his attention. They are always unique in flavour and of the highest quality in the processing and showcase what specialty coffee is all about.

Colombia Rafael Aya Castillo

A new experimental lot from our Colombian friends. This coffee is mind blowing. Produced by Rafael Aya in Huila, this lot is made up of Castillo. Following strict picking protocol, this coffee is fermented for 156 hours held at 18 degrees throughout the fermentation to prevent off flavours forming. The result in the cup is mind blowingly funky. Big sweetness and aromas fill the room once this bad boy is opened. In the cup expect flavours of high quality dark chocolate with fruity ripe purple grapes and a super pleasant lingering winey quality. Crazy funky, crazy good.

Get around it!
