    Who's Behind This Amazing Coffee?

The Getuya Coffee Factory, operated by the Mwirua Farmers Cooperative Society since 1964, is the heart of this remarkable coffee. With 900 smallholder farmers contributing from their small plots of land, each step—from hand-picking ripe cherries to the meticulous washing and drying process—is handled with care and precision. This dedication ensures that each cup of Kenya Getuya Washed reflects the hard work and expertise of the farmers.

    The Process

The Washed process at Getuya Coffee Factory is a meticulous journey, involving depulping, underwater fermentation for 15–24 hours, and triple washing before the beans are spread on raised metal drying tables for 6–7 days. This method enhances the coffee's clarity and brightness, allowing its distinctive flavours to shine.

    The Region

Nestled in the lush landscapes of Kirinyaga, Central Kenya, the Getuya Coffee Factory benefits from rich volcanic soil and abundant rainfall, creating ideal conditions for growing high-quality coffee. The region’s proximity to Mt. Kenya and its diverse wildlife add to the unique terroir that defines Kenya Getuya Washed.

Experience the vibrant flavours and rich heritage of Kenya Getuya Washed, and let it elevate your coffee moments. Order your bag today and enjoy the dedication in every brew!
